Alexandra-Maria-Lara

Alexandra Maria Lara (born in Romania) is a Romanian actor and TV host. Her most well-known work is the main character in Rush, Downfall Youth Without Youth Control, and Rush. As the only daughter from Romanian acting star Valentin Platareanu, Alexandra entered the world of show business early, and ended up playing lead roles in different shows on television by the time she turned 16. Her portrayal of Adolf Hitler's Secretary Traudl Jue, in Downfall (an Oscar-nominated historic war film), was critically and commercially acclaimed. Additional Oscar nominated movies featuring the famous diva are The Reader and Der Baader Meinhof Komplex. Alexandra is well-known for her participation in a variety of important projects in both the US and internationally. One of these is the British biographical documentary Control, Greek drama film The Dust of Time, and the French historical miniseries Napoleon. In addition, she is juror at each of The Transylvania International Film Festival and Cannes Film Festival.
